Hello to all the lovely Zdoofer’s out there. 

As we had promised we are going to share some great easy fat free and less calorie dishes in our alternative Indian blog and we hope you loved the ones already posted.

How about a smell of a fried fish from Bengal or Amristari fish from Punjab or Bombil fry from Maharashtra has tantalized your taste buds but the oily factor has kept you away with it, so i decided to use the new Air Fryer appliance - a revolution method in modern cooking.

Air fryer is a kitchen appliance where food is cooked by hot air giving it a crisp exterior while using less oil than usual recipe and can be a great source for reducing cholesterol, obesity, diabities etc.

Air fried semolina crusted Basa, tempered coconut, beetroot chutney.

Recipe Serves – 2

Level – Easy

Time 25- 30 minutes

RECIPE

Marination

Basa – 1 fillet

Ginger, Garlic pounded – 5 gms

Lemon – 5 ml

Carom seed – 1 gm

Curry leaf julliene – 2 nos

Salt – to taste

Coating

Rice flour – 8 gms

Semolina – 1 cup

Egg – 1 no

Tempered coconut

Fresh coconut shredded – 5 gms

Black mustard seed – 1 gms

Asafoetida – a pinch

Turmeric – a pinch

Salt –to taste

Oil olive – 10 ml

Beetroot Chutney

Roasted beetroot – 1 no

Coconut crème – 2 tsp

Salt – to taste

Lemon – 2 tbsp

METHOD

Marinade

1.   Cut the basa into diamond shape and keep it on a kitchen towel pat them dry.

2. Combine all the ingredients for marination and marinate the fish for 30 minutes

Coating

3. Combine the entire ingredient for coating and coat the fish by patting them on it.

4. Cook on a preheated air fryer with till the crust looks crisp.

Chutney

5. Make a smooth paste of beetroot in a kitchen blender and mix coconut crème add seasoning and lemon juice.

Tempered coconut

6. Heat some oil in a frying pan and temper with mustard and asafoetida, add turmeric and coconut, season.

Final assembling

7. Pour a spoonful of chutney and put the fish on top and decorate it with coconut.
